Chapter 41 provides the beginning of Alli Mohammed's personal account of how he came to possess the portrait of Sai Baba. He explains that one day, while wandering the streets of Mumbai, he came across a merchant selling various beautiful pictures of saints, sages, and holy men. As he looked through the collection, one particular portrait strongly appealed to his heart. This picture was of Sai Baba, whom Alli already worshipped and loved dearly. Seeing the form of his beloved deity, he became eager to have it, paid the price in cash, and purchased the portrait. He then took it home and hung it on his wall, taking daily Darshan with great joy.
