Chapter 28 explains that Sai Baba would often go into the dreams of his devotees to give them darshan. These interactions varied greatly; for some, he would make requests like asking for khichdi or telling them to "Remove the trishul (trident)". For others, the interaction was more disciplinary, as he might take a stick and beat their backs in the manner of a Guru.
