According to Chapter 23, why does the human soul experience suffering, and what is the prescribed remedy?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 23

Chapter 23 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra explains that the soul is, in its true nature, beyond qualities and is characterized by Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda). However, it becomes deluded by Maya, forgets its true self, and identifies with the body. This leads to pride, the feeling of being the 'doer' and 'enjoyer,' and results in distress from a series of calamities. The text explicitly states that loving devotion, or Bhakti Yoga, at the feet of the Guru is the only way to calm these calamities and find a way of escape from this suffering.
