According to Chapter 23, why does the human soul experience suffering, and what is the prescribed path to find peace?

📖 Chapter 23

Chapter 23 explains that the soul, which is in reality pure Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda), becomes deluded by Maya. This delusion causes it to forget its true nature and instead identify with the physical body. Through this mistaken identity, it develops pride and the false notion of being the 'doer' and 'enjoyer,' leading to a succession of calamities and distress. The text clearly states that the one true way to calm these troubles and escape this cycle is through loving devotion (Bhakti Yoga) at the feet of the Guru, who can guide the soul back to its real state.
