According to Chapter 23, what is the true nature of the human soul, what causes it to suffer, and what is the prescribed remedy?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 23

Chapter 23 explains that the soul's true nature is Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda), existing beyond the three gunas or qualities. However, it becomes deluded by Maya, causing it to forget this reality and mistakenly identify with the body. This identification leads to pride and the false notion of being the "doer" and "enjoyer," which in turn traps the soul in a cycle of calamities and distress. The only way to calm these troubles and escape this suffering, as stated in this chapter, is through the path of loving devotion (Bhakti Yoga) at the feet of the Guru.
