According to Chapter 23, what is the soul's true nature, why does it suffer, and what is the suggested path to overcome this suffering?

📖 Chapter 23

Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra explains that the soul's true nature is Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda) and it exists beyond the three gunas, or qualities. However, it becomes deluded by Maya, causing it to forget this nature and instead identify with the body. This leads to the prideful thought of being the "doer" and "enjoyer," which in turn causes distress through a series of calamities. The chapter posits that the only way to calm these troubles and find an escape is through loving devotion (Bhakti Yoga) at the feet of a Guru.
