According to Chapter 23, what is the nature of human suffering and what is the prescribed remedy?

📖 Chapter 23

Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra explains that the human soul's true nature is Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda). However, it becomes deluded by Maya, causing it to forget its real self and mistakenly identify with the physical body. This leads to pride and the false notion of being the "doer" and "enjoyer," which in turn results in a "succession of calamities" and distress. The chapter clearly states that there is one definitive path to escape this suffering: loving devotion, or Bhakti Yoga, at the feet of the Guru. This devotion is described as the "only way to calm these calamities." As explained in Chapter 23, through this path, the Guru, like the great actor Shri Rang (Sai), colors the devotee in His own divine hue, leading them out of delusion and toward peace.
