According to Chapter 23, what is the cause of human suffering and what is the prescribed solution?

📖 Chapter 23

Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra teaches that the root cause of human suffering is delusion by Maya. This delusion causes the soul to forget its true divine nature of Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda) and instead identify with the physical body. This false identification leads to pride, the feeling of being the "doer" and "enjoyer," which in turn leads to a succession of calamities. As the chapter explains, the only way to calm these calamities and escape this cycle of distress is through Bhakti Yoga, which is loving devotion at the feet of the Guru. It is through this devotion, as mentioned in Chapter 23, that a devotee is colored in the Guru's own hue and finds the path to liberation.
