According to Chapter 17, why do people struggle to choose the path of 'Shreya' and instead get drawn to 'Preya'?

📖 Chapter 17

Chapter 17 clarifies that while the choice is within a person's control, it is difficult for many. People are drawn to Preya due to an obsession with worldly objects, such as gold and women, and the senses' craving for them. The chapter states that a dull-witted person, caught in the cycle of maintaining their body, family, and wealth, is conquered by Preya and embraces it. This lack of discrimination makes Preya seem sweet, even though Shreya is the path of true self-interest. Thus, without wisdom, the allure of worldly joy is difficult to resist.
