According to Chapter 17 of the Sai Satcharitra, why do people choose the path of Preya, and what analogy is used to describe those who choose Shreya?

According to Chapter 17, people choose the path of Preya, or worldly joy, because they are obsessed with things like gold and women, their senses crave worldly objects, and they lack discrimination and detachment. This path seems sweet to them. The chapter uses a powerful analogy to describe those who wisely choose Shreya, the path of salvation. Just as a swan, or Maral, can drink only the pure milk from a mixture of milk and water, courageous and intelligent souls cling only to Shreya and turn away from Preya. This choice to discard Preya and honor Shreya is presented in Chapter 17 as the true purpose of human life.
