According to Chapter 16, what is the role of a Sadguru and how should a disciple behave towards him?

📖 Chapter 16

Chapter 16 elaborates on the supreme role of the Sadguru and the ideal conduct for a disciple. The Sadguru is depicted as the "King of Yogis" who has taken a physical body to uplift the poor and lowly. He is an "ocean of Truth, Consciousness, and Bliss" who imparts knowledge to the ignorant. The chapter stresses that a disciple should simply surrender completely to the Sadguru, as the disciple is unaware of their own pitfalls, which the Guru remedies. It is crucial to serve the Guru with firm faith and humility, as any "cleverness" or neglect can lead to trouble. As this chapter describes, by serving the Guru with faith, a disciple can attain union with Brahman (Sayujya). The Guru is described as the most generous giver in all three worlds.
