According to Baba, what is the key to overcoming desire and why is it connected to understanding the Self?

According to the teachings in Chapter 3, Sai Baba explained that the key to overcoming desire is to understand one's true self. He stated that desires arise in the intellect and are not connected to the Soul. Since Sai Maharaj is the form of the Soul itself, there is no impulse for desire within Him. When a person grasps the essence of 'Who am I' and realizes the all-pervading nature of the Self, the notions of 'I' and 'mine' dissolve. At this stage of realization, there is nothing left to desire. Baba used a vivid metaphor, saying that upon understanding this truth, desires dissolve like hailstones heated by the rays of the sun.
