According to Baba's teachings in Chapter 47, why is an offering made with impure intentions considered a sin rather than a merit?

📖 Chapter 47

In Chapter 47, Baba explains that the merit of a donation is not in the act itself but in the intention behind it. He uses the example of the wealthy man's wife offering land to Shankara. Because the land was worthless and the act was rooted in deceitful greed rather than genuine piety, it was not a meritorious deed. Baba states, "Where there is not even a bit of pure resolve, Offering to Krishna is not without blemish; it's not merit but accumulated sin Which is distressing in the end." This highlights the principle that actions driven by greed and a desire to deceive, even when disguised as religious offerings, ultimately create negative karma that brings suffering.
