According to Baba's teachings, does the soul actually perform actions or experience things in the world?

📖 Chapter 8

This is an insightful question about our true nature. According to the teachings in Chapter 8, the Soul, or Atman, is eternally a non-doer. It only appears to perform actions due to its association with what are called adjuncts (upadhis), which include the body, senses, mind, and intellect. Through these, the Soul mistakenly attributes 'doership' to itself. Chapter 8 further clarifies that the Soul's state of being an enjoyer is also conditional; by its inherent nature, it is a non-enjoyer. This profound truth is supported by scripture, logic, and reasoning.
