A woman named Gokhale came to Shirdi with a specific resolution about fasting. How did her plan conflict with Baba's principles, and how did Baba react?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 32

A woman named Mrs. Gokhale arrived in Shirdi with a letter from Kelkar, having firmly resolved in her mind to fast for three days while at Maharaj's feet. As Chapter 32 explains, this resolution was in direct opposition to Baba's daily routine and spiritual philosophy. Baba's principle was that for one to find God, one should first eat a piece of bread. He knew of her intention beforehand, as he knows what is in everyone's heart, and had even made a prediction to Dada Kelkar, asking, "In this Shimga (Holi) festival, will my children remain hungry? How can I let them remain so? Then what am I needed for?"
