A traveler witnesses a strange event involving a snake and a frog. How does the narrator begin to explain the situation to him?

📖 Chapter 47

After witnessing Baba's divine intervention where a snake releases a frog upon his command, a traveler is bewildered and asks for an explanation of what he saw and the meaning of the names Veerabhadrappa and Basappa. As detailed in Chapter 47, the narrator first suggests they relax, saying, 'first let's go under the tree and smoke the pipe again; I will satisfy your curiosity.' Once they are settled under a tree in the cool breeze, the narrator begins the explanation by telling a story. This story, which is meant to provide the reason for the enmity, starts by describing a plan to renovate a broken temple of Mahadeva in a glorious and holy place, setting the stage for the events that led to the deep-seated hatred.
