Despite Sai Baba explicitly telling him to 'Eat a piece of bread and leave after noon,' the author, in a great hurry to catch a train, ignored the instruction and left immediately. As a direct result, the left wheel of his bullock cart came off and fell into a ditch. While fortunately no one was injured, the time it took to repair the cart caused him to miss his train. As Chapter 9 concludes, he was then forced to stay and eat at an eatery in Kopargaon, ironically fulfilling the essence of Baba's original advice and learning a lesson about the importance of obedience.
