A devotee was told by Baba, "Consuming that bread of love, I became completely satisfied." What did he mean by this?

📖 Chapter 9

In this profound statement from Chapter 9, Sai Baba was explaining his oneness with all creatures. A lady devotee was confused when Baba thanked her for feeding him, as she had only paid for her own food. Baba clarified that he was referring to the bread she had given to a hungry dog that appeared at her door. He explained, "While sitting to eat, whoever comes to the door with the distress of hunger in their belly—that dog which you saw suddenly, I have oneness with him." By saying he was "completely satisfied," he was teaching her that an act of kindness towards any hungry being is a direct service to him, erasing the separation between the giver, the receiver, and God.
