A devotee was confused by Baba's words about serving him. How did Sai Baba clarify his seemingly cryptic meaning?

📖 Chapter 9

In an interaction detailed in Chapter 9, a lady devotee expressed confusion when Baba told her to serve him, as she was dependent herself and had to pay for her own food. Baba clarified his statement by revealing its profound inner meaning. He explained that he had become "completely satisfied" and was "still getting belches" from the bread she had given to a hungry dog earlier. He revealed his oneness with the dog and also with a pig she had seen, stating, "that dog which you saw suddenly, I have oneness with him." This taught her that serving any hungry being was equivalent to serving him directly.
